“A fascinating exploration of our pathologically habitual society — we smoke, we incessantly check our BlackBerrys, we chronically choose bad partners, we always (or never) make our beds. Duhigg digs into why we are this way, and how we can change, both as individuals and institutionally.” —The Daily
Here are a few of my good habits:
- I have a notebook I bring with me to every meeting I attend. I create a to-do list about every other day in this notebook and prioritize that list several times throughout the week. These notes have helped save my bacon a multitude of times
- I clean as I cook. I clean my house and office a little bit every single day. I try and make a place for every thing. Every thing must have a place where it belongs or it will not be put away
- I make the kids lunches as soon as dinner is done
- I lay out my clothes at night
- I do a load of laundry every other day
- I purge mail and paperwork every single day
- I pay my bills as soon as they arrive to the house. I can set bill pay to pay when I want it and this habit has prevented a ton of late fees
- I say Thank You a lot
- I smile and make eye contact
- I don't drink soda
- I say I love you a lot
- I laugh a lot
- I make time for dancing (kitchen, living room, car)
